Exactly Paw-some:  The Happy World of Cat Treats

Those wonderful furballs, cats, have a way for piques our interest.  Not an exception is their passion for small morsels outside of their usual diet.  You know how good cats are at judging—especially when rewards are involved. They create exquisite art.  Pulling out that bag of delicious treats from Premium Feeders feels as though a feline jury has gathered.
Once I had a cat called Mittens, she was a treat snob.  She would look “you’ve-got-to- be-kidding-me” if you offered her a regular kibble.  But reveal the seductive scent of a salmon-flavored treat, and her eyes would glitter like a young child in a candy store.  It simply illustrates how easily the appropriate temptation can influence even the most discriminating tastes.
Let us now discuss the great range of choices at hand.  It’s quite a smorgasbary.  There is something for every feline taste from cheesy salmon rolls to freeze-dried chicken bits.  But sometimes choosing the correct one is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.  Every cat has different tastes; learning about them can be a fascinating trip.
Of course, health is quite important as well as taste.  Nobody wants to offend Fluffy’s stomach.  It could be worth looking over the ingredient list if you find your furball performing that cute but slightly furious head shake and turning up their nose.  Treats high in omega-3 will help your cat have shiny, silky coat.
Recall that moderation is really important.  Though too many snacks could cause a plump kitten, it’s easy to give in to those begging eyes.  And a round fluffball might be adorable, but obesity can cause major medical problems.  Consider snacks as a sprinkling of happiness rather than the main meal.
Unmatched is the delight of finding what appeals to your cat’s palate.  It is a dance of trial and pleasure.  The occasional rejection should not discourage you; it is all part of the great journey.  Remember the inherent spirit of the cat—the delight is in the chase—and in this case, the search for the purr-fect bite next time you go down the treat aisle!
